I have met so many people who want to live a better life, they want their own home or a new home, to have a good working car, to send their children to university that they may not have experiences and to achieve other things like just more freedom with their time or just afford that much need vacation. Most of us have turned into our own worst enemies, constantly stopping ourselves from achieving our  goals with a lot of negative self-talk. I hear things like – it is too expensive, I do not have time, I do not like this type of business.

When I offer persons the opportunity to save on their monthly expenses – people do not take up the opportunity because they are so afraid, afraid that it is too expensive or they are not ready for this.  If you have been following I want to ask are you afraid to live a better life? Are you afraid to do what it takes to save on your monthly expenses or achieve your goals? These types of negative thoughts, and fear serves only to limit our potential and prevent us from achieving the success that we are capable of. We are what we think we are. By thinking positively about all things, we admit into our minds thoughts, words and images that are conducive to growth and success.  If we expect happiness, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action, this is what we will get.

It is time to claim back your life, stop limiting your own potential, and take action  to develop the power of positive thinking in yourself and to overcome your fears and achieve your goals.

1. Decide to think more positively

Take a look around you and make a conscious choice to conquer the negativity around you and in you. Tell yourself – what can I learn from this and how can this help me to reach my goal? No matter how dismal your life seems at the moment, choosing to be more positive is totally up to you.  Who are you blaming for your life – your boss? your spouse? your company?  No one can do this for you. You must decide now that enough is enough.

2. Make a habit to encourage yourself daily

Be your own personal cheerleader.  Don’t wait on anyone to improve your self-esteem or emotional well-being, encourage yourself with daily positive affirmations. This can help you develop a positive mindset,  thereby putting you in a better position to achieve your goals.

3. Run from negative people

Negativity is contagious so avoid negative people like the plague, they sap your energy, enthusiasm and motivation. Your circle of friends should be caring, positive individuals who will support you and encourage you to achieve your goals. Get connected with companies that provide the opportunity to help you build your business while learning new skills and ways to make money.

4. Explore new opportunities

The best way to get rid of your fears  is to force yourself out of your comfort zone. Explore new opportunities – learn how to reduce your monthly expenses, how to make money at home. or how to have more freedom in your life. Trying new things and new experiences can do wonders to enhance your positive outlook on life. The sense of achievement that comes from learning a new skill, having your own business and having control of your time  will elevate your mood and self-esteem.

If you want to make money,  achieve success and achieve your goals, take a decision now to reprogram your brain to replace all negative thoughts with positive ones by practicing these simple steps listed above.  Take a decision now to live a better life.  You deserve better.  You deserve to make more money to do what you want to do.  Are you going to continue to rent  falling back on the rent every other month?  What about that house you have been looking at for the longest time?

When life takes a different turn to what you had planned, you will sometimes find it difficult to bounce back. Your mind starts to wonder ‘why is this happening’ especially if this situation had happened previously.

You fail to recognize that these are experiences, that failure is life’s way of saying you need to pay attention to certain things e.g improve your skills, your attitude or some other aspect of your life.

The best way to bounce back is to see things for what it is.

So you lost your job, but you did not like the job in the first place.  When you got the job opportunity instead of starting off observing the environment and learning all you can, you became obsessed with pleasing people.  You got involved in the office politics and now you drag yourself to get up to go to the office. You now need to start over. Find a job that you are passionate about. Something, that at the end of the day you feel a sense of accomplishment. Observation and learning is key in the probationary stage. Do not rush to please the boss or manager, and be careful of people who are too nice to you. The knowledge you acquire from observing and learning will move you quickly through the ranks.

If you were bypassed for a position take this opportunity to re-brand yourself. Have a documented approach to your re-branding.  Find ways to develop yourself for the position you want. Get a Life Coach and one or two mentors. Add new circles of influence. Review your dress code. Lose or put on weight if you have to.

If you are trying to bounce back from a relationship realize that there is no love lost. You were always loved and will always be loved.  You cannot love someone for whatever number of years and then say I no longer love you. Was that really true love in the first place?  Find a Life Coach and transform yourself. Join new groups. Find your true purpose. The more you achieve celebrate your achievements.

You have to be truly committed to transforming. Some people may want to take the easy way out, but know this you must put effort into anything you want to achieve.

Bouncing back is like being on a trampoline the lower you fall the higher you get back up.

The best way to bounce back is to see things as they are, observe and learn and use this knowledge to transform yourself and guide you to the next stage of your life.

Why we need to encourage others especially our young people.

I was recently involved in a Mentoring Program for young women at RM Bailey Senior High School in the Bahamas, and I was encouraged by the fact that these young women devoted their lunch time to listen to me talk about having a vision and charting their lives.

This experience made me realize that a bit of encouragement goes a long way. Their Guidance Counselor- Mrs. Andrea Eve was there every week encouraging them to attend. She even arranged lunch for them for the ten weeks of the program, and offered tokens for those who presented the best vision board and for attendance. Below Christina Robinson of RM Bailey Senior High presents her Vision Board.

We have to continuously find the opportunity to encourage others. Encouragement must have meaning, according to Nicky Gumbel …’Encouragement is not flattery or empty praise; it is like verbal sunshine. It costs nothing and warms other people’s hearts and inspires them with hope and confidence in their faith. .’

Make a difference in someone’s life by encouraging them, whether it is on the job or at home, especially the young people. So many of our young people have no idea of how to plan their lives, they have children at an early age, they get involved in situations way over their heads, they get involved with the wrong company of friends, and when they do get a job they do not even know how to fit in. Our young people and even those persons who may be struggling need to know they are going on the right track and you can make a difference in their lives.

At one time in my job someone said ‘why should I encourage or appreciate anyone, no one encourages or appreciates me?’ Even managers sometimes find it hard to encourage their employees because they are of the view that they are there to do a job and they are getting paid for that. so they do not need any further encouragement. They do not realize that these are the right opportunities to encourage people, thereby enhancing performance for both employee and the company.

Today I urge you to encourage somebody, do not wait for someone to encourage you first. As you continue to encourage people you will feel more appreciated and more people will start to encourage and appreciate you.
