Diet Pills: Do They Really Work?

Diet Pills: Do They Really Work?
from HealthyWomen.org’s Obesity Health Center

Some do, some don’t—and it’s important to understand the difference. Currently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved three drugs to aid long-term weight loss. They are: orlistat (Xenical and Alli), lorcaserin (Belviq) and phentermine-topiramate (Qsymia).

There also are many over-the-counter appetite suppressants and other drugs and supplements that promise rapid weight loss, but they have not proven effective for lasting weight loss, and some can cause potentially dangerous side effects.

The cornerstone of successful weight loss involves lifestyle changes, such as eating a healthful, high-fiber, lower-calorie diet, being physically active and modifying negative behaviors. Numerous studies prove the health dangers of excess pounds, so it’s important to try to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

If you are among the nearly 70 percent of U.S. adults age 20 and older who are overweight or obese, the prescription weight-loss medications may help you get to a healthier weight. However, they won’t help everyone. Weight loss is a serious, long-term endeavor. Always discuss  your options with your health care provider or consult a registered dietitian.

No weight-loss medications should be used if you’re pregnant or trying to become pregnant. Some medications may be restricted if you are less than 18 years old or have certain medical conditions. Like most medications, weight-loss medications have potential side effects. None of the long-term weight-loss drugs is considered high risk for developing a drug dependence, but you should take care if you have a history of drug or alcohol addiction.

Here’s a primer on weight-loss medications:

  • Orlistat works by preventing your body from absorbing about one-third of the fat you eat. It can interfere with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, so you should take a multivitamin while taking orlistat. It can cause diarrhea, stomach  pain, gas and other gastrointestinal symptoms. These symptoms are usually mild and temporary but may be worse if you eat high-fat foods. In rare cases, orlistat may cause liver damage, so stop taking the drug and contact your health care professional if you notice any symptoms of liver problems, such as dark urine or yellowish eyes or skin. Xenical is the prescription version of orlistat, approved for adults and children 12 and older. Alli is the lower-dose over-the-counter orlistat. It is not approved for children. Do not take orlistat while taking cyclosporine.
  • Lorcaserin affects the chemicals in your brain that help decrease your appetite and make you feel full, so you eat less. It does not work for all people, so if you do not lose 5 percent of your weight within 12 weeks of starting the drug, the medication may not work for you, and you should talk with your health care professional about other options. Side effects of lorcaserin may include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, dry mouth, cough and constipation. If you are also taking an SSRI antidepressant or MAOI, ask your health care professional about the risk of serotonin syndrome.
  • Phentermine-topiramate combines two FDA-approved drugs. The phentermine suppresses appetite, but used alone, it is only approved for two weeks. By combining a lower dosage of phentermine with extended-release topiramate, the drug has been shown to be safe for up to two years. The medication comes in three doses: starting dose, recommended dose and higher dose. Similar to lorcaserin, it is not effective for everyone, so if you have not lost at least 5 percent of your body weight after 12 weeks on the higher dose of phentermine-topiramate, talk to your health care professional about other options. Common side effects may include tingling hands and feet, dizziness, changes in taste, trouble sleeping, constipation and dry mouth. Rare side effects may include allergic reactions, memory or mood problems, suicidal thoughts, vision problems and kidney stones. It is not recommended if you have an overactive thyroid gland, glaucoma or have recently taken an MAOI antidepressant (though it was safely tested with other antidepressants).

There also are several over-the-counter FDA-approved appetite suppressants that affect the brain chemicals that regulate your appetite. They include:

  • phentermine (Adipex-P, Oby-Cap, Suprenza, T-Diet, Zantryl)
  • benzphetamine (Didrex)
  • diethylpropion (Tenuate, Tenuate Dospan)
  • phendimetrazine (Adipost, Bontril PDM, Bontril Slow Release, Melfiat)

These medications have the potential for abuse and are only FDA-approved for short-term use of up to 12 weeks, though some health care professionals may prescribe them for longer “off-label” use. Side effects can include dry mouth, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, headache, nervousness, restlessness, upset stomach and diarrhea or constipation. Severe side effects may include chest pain, fainting, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, confusion and swelling in your ankles or feet. You should not take appetite suppressants if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid gland or glaucoma.

These appetite suppressants, along with other over-the-counter remedies like diuretics and supplements, have not been found to be effective long term and some have been linked to serious side effects.

Some issues to think about before considering a weight loss medication:

  1. Your degree of overweight: weight loss medications are usually prescribed for people with a body mass index (BMI) over 27 who have additional complications, such as diabetes; or for those with BMIs over 30 without complications. BMI is a measure of weight status: people with BMIs from 25 to 29.9 are considered overweight; those with BMIs of 30 and above are considered obese.
  2. Your degree of success with other weight loss programs or methods.
  3. Your ability to comply with taking the medications and making long-term lifestyle changes.

How to overcome negative vibes among your staff?

If you are a Supervisor or Manager this article may prove helpful.

Overcoming ‘negative vibes’ among your staff: 10 tips

in HUMAN RESOURCES,OFFICE MANAGEMENT,VIDEOS

Every HR pro and manager has to deal with a certain amount of pessimistic, hostile or uncooperative behavior at times. It’s just part of the workplace. But a hard-core negative attitude that starts with just one employee can quickly infect an entire department (or sometimes a whole company) if you don’t rein it in quickly. The ugly result: A workplace that’s rife with backstabbing, gossiping and rebellious employees. Cal Butera, the editor of Business Management Daily’s Office Manager Today and Manager’s Legal Bulletinnewsletters, provides the top 10 tips for confronting employees whose negative behavior has begun to affect co-workers and the company.

1. Don’t get drawn into the employees’ negative mind-set. Listen to their points, but don’t temper your own realistic optimism.

2. Avoid getting into an argument. Negative people thrive on the negative energy of arguments. Point out areas of agreement when possible in order to build rapport. Keep your cool.

3. Set standards. Spell out the consequences of negative behavior, such as decreased morale. Base them on behavior, not attitude. For example, you may not be able to change the fact that an employee doesn’t like a certain company policy. But you can discipline employees if they don’t follow the policy or are insubordinate in gossiping about it.

4. Ask questions. Force the employee to be specific about what is creating his or her negative thoughts and actions.

5. Try role-playing. Ask the employee to put himself in your shoes and pretend he has been asked to resolve the problem. That way, you will have the employee contribute his ideas for the best possible solutions. Involving the employee may also lead to more positive feelings about the solution or outcome since he or she had a hand in creating it.

6. Listen carefully. Use active listening to ensure that you’re understanding the employee correctly.

7. Don’t lower your expectations of the employee. A negative attitude doesn’t necessarily mean a poor performer.

8. Empower employees. Stop the “victim” mentality from forming. Allow employees to take responsibility for “good” events, so they can make them happen again, and for the “bad” events, so they have the power to change them in the future.

9. Solicit feedback. Always ask for employees’ opinions before making major decisions that will affect them. The more you listen to employees, and take an active interest in their concerns, the less likely they will be to complain to each other.

10. Hire right. Identify negative people before they’re hired. During the interview, listen for feelings that “life isn’t fair” in response to questions like: Have you ever felt you’ve been treated unfairly in the past? What were your chief concerns about management in your previous jobs? and What would you have changed if you were the manager at your last job?

Along with those 10 tips, here are four things you should NEVER do in your effort to stop negativity from wrecking your workplace:

1. Don’t shower negativists with a lot of attention. You’re only rewarding bad behavior.

2. Don’t stop asking them to pitch in and do tasks outside their normal job descriptions. Otherwise, you’re also punishing positive (or less vocal) employees.

3. Don’t correct them less often in order to avoid dealing with the attitude. Employees can’t be expected to change for the better if they’re not asked to.

4. Don’t allow employees to get bored or complacent. A negative attitude develops easily when there’s “nothing to look forward to.”

Why a Chewable?

Every type of food you eat, you CHEW before swallowing.

There is a scientific reason for that! The most important part of digestion actually takes place in the mouth, where the teeth break apart food and your saliva breaks down the proteins, fats and carbohydrates…and all this takes place even before you swallow.

When you swallow pills whole, you are skipping this vital part of the digestive process.
In fact, some weight loss pills contain binders, fillers and hard chemical coatings that diminish absorption even further! In comparison, Trimulean contains all-natural ingredients and is fully broken down in the mouth before you swallow, leading to more complete absorption.

With Trimulean,

Your body can actually USE the ingredients to help you lose weight.

Chewing got you into this… Chewing will get you out!

This is the best way to lose weight and it is ideal for Managers, Supervisors and Moms on the go.

The Good, The Bad and The In Between!

These days everywhere I turn someone I know has cancer, or someone I know, knows someone who has cancer. Cancer has no preferences.

I have only heard about these people but I have never knowingly met any Cancer patients until recently, and these are my experiences.

A couple of months ago I became friends with a very devout Christian lady whom I found out later has Cancer.  I greatly admire this lady as no one would ever know that she has Cancer.  She recently indicated that she might have to undergo surgery for the Cancer, but she would allow the doctors to operate on any part of her body except her brain. She happily said, and with confidence ‘once it is my brain, no, let me go to meet my Lord’. She is always very cheerful and always deeply devoted to being a soldier for the Lord’s works. When I look at her, I think God gives us troubles but also gives us the courage, strength and attitude to deal with it. This lady reminds me somewhat of Job from the Bible who was plagued with illness and troubles, yet he continued praising the Lord incessantly. It is with her in mind I am moved to write this article.

I am of the view that when you are stricken with illness or life’s troubles you either, put your hands up in the air and give up or wallow in your troubles and dwindle away quickly or you fight.

Change the way you look at things, change your attitude and make peace with your creator. Of course this may be easier to say than do, but you soon realize that there are only two choices.

I also heard of a Priest who is battling with cancer. How can this be? Priests, Pastors all the people who spread God’s word teach us how to pray and even pray for healing for us. I was talking to a ninety-six year old lady and she said ‘we all have to suffer’, so I guess there are no exemptions.

My next encounter was in February 2012 when I met a sixteen year old girl named Lisa. She had a rare type of cancer. This affected her muscles. The Doctors had decided that they could do no more for her so she was at home being looked after by a Caretaker, her older cousin.

I visited Lisa on a number of occasions, and what I admired about her was her courage. She was always smiling despite the excruciating pain she endured. She had very huge bulges over her legs and under her neck. I remember praying with her and for her and also fighting back the tears when I saw her grimacing in pain.

I would take fruits for her, and got her Caretaker to give her a blend of apple, carrot and potato juice (this organic blend helped eased her pain), together with chai seeds, and Green Tea with Ganoderma. I regretted that I did not meet her before.

I recall the week before Lisa moved on, her Doctor said she thought she would have been worse, and for the last week before leaving this life she had no pains.

She spent the day before her passing with her Grandmother and Uncle and some other family members who visited and finally spent the rest of the night, up till two am bonding with her mother and Caretaker. Early that morning Lisa moved on in her sleep, very quietly. For me such courage is indescribable.

I also know of people who have been very mean and hurtful to other people, who have been struck with cancer. At one time it would not bother me that people who hurt others get sick even with Cancer, but I realize that we do not know why these people hurt other people and we must have an open mind and heart. We must also learn to forgive.

Quite alarming was the fact that the Bahamas Daily Newspapers a few months ago reported that Bahamas is one of the countries with a very high rate of persons who have been diagnosed with cancer. So those destructive bastard cells do not differentiate between the good, the bad or the in between but they have victims in every country.

What is Cancer?

The best explanation I have seen for Cancer is one from Gary Null ,Ph.D in his book ‘The Complete Encyclopaedia of Natural Healing’. According to Null Cancer is really a group of diseases in which cells do not follow the regular growth and reproduction that is common to diseases. Instead they multiply more rapidly than normal killing other body cells, and they spread from their primary location to other parts of the body by using the bloodstream and lymphatic system. The most common are tumours that start in the skin or in glandular tissue like the breast or prostrate gland.  There are other types that affect the bone, muscle and cartilage like in the case of Lisa.

It has been said that while there are some Cancer that are hereditary, because our diet lack adequate nutrients causing an acidic environment in our bodies, we have  introduced various chemicals for producing our foods,  and most of us live in the fast lane we set the stage for Cancer.

What can you do?

There are so many options available now, so I will just list a couple that I have noticed people are trying and getting results. Of course each of our bodies are different so what works with one person may not necessarily work for you, but where health is concerned once it is natural there is no harm in trying it. I am not a Doctor but a lot of these options you can do while continuing on your medication until you experience the results you want. Even if you do not have Cancer the following can still be used to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  1. When your body speaks to you do not be afraid to go to the Doctor to check out what is happening.

Many times we have a pain or we feel something different with our body and we let it linger. Your body knows when something is wrong, so take the time to find out, and then with this information you can decide how to deal with it.

2. Be sure to have a cleanse every two to three months. Build-up of waste in the body causes excess fat and toxins to pile up. This can result in diseases. My mother always says ‘make sure and take some Senna Leaves every now and again’. I did not pay much attention, but as I mature there is wisdom in what she said.

3. Watch what you eat

You may want to change to a healthier diet, cutting out the fast foods and ditching the fried stuff for grill or broil. Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables. Some people have found it beneficial to use whole foods, whole grains etc. If you are not discipline enough take a daily supplement that has powerful ingredients to help you get all the vitamins you need.

4.  Exercise. Exercise. Exercise.

I am at times guilty of this, but every health practitioner stresses this.  There are three things about good health – proper nutrition, adequate hydration and adequate exercise. I learnt that Cardio exercise gets the heart rate up and resistance exercise builds muscle and strengthens bones. Of course as we mature we need the muscle and our bones must remain strong. Exercise not only burns calories but keeps the blood and lymph fluids circulating and this helps to get rid of toxins. Sometimes we are not discipline enough to exercise, so having a Mentor helps with this.

5. Take Acidophilus. This is a probiotic which helps to eliminate or reduce the production of cancer causing chemicals. It also helps to deactivate cancerous causing enzymes. When you are on antibiotics or any medication for a prolonged period of time, both the good and bad bacteria are killed off. You will not be able to consume adequate nutrient based foods to replace the good bacteria so the Acidophilus replaces the good bacteria for you. I recall having been on Antibiotics for several years. When I eventually had a blood analysis done, the Nutritionist indicated that my body was lacking of good bacteria and this was causing some health problems for me.  Whenever you take Antibiotics you should replace the good bacteria. If your body is low on good bacteria you are exposed to all types of illnesses starting with your digestive system.

6. Boost the immune system with Co Q10. Health experts claim that this is a nutrient that is used for healthy immune system.

7. Avoid sugars, and excessive fats.  We all have that sweet tooth and we know now that sugar is acidic and affects our insulin level which in turn causes Diabetes. Excessive fats especially animal fats contribute to those extra pounds and puts a strain on our body which brings on all types of ailments.

.

8.Reduce or avoid red meat, unless you can be absolutely sure this is from animals that have been grass fed. You will notice a big difference if you can achieve this.

9. Keep the body hydrated; drink your six to eight glasses of pure water daily. You can also use Lemon juice in water, wheat grass or Chai seeds. Cancer or any other disease cannot strive in an alkaline environment, so the trick is to keep your body alkaline in order to balance the pH of the blood.

10. If you have been diagnosed start thinking organic e.g  a  blend of potato, carrot and apple may  help with your pains. This also helps eliminate tumours and help with acid reflux. I have personally used it for acid reflux. Take it on an empty stomach in the morning and before five pm in the afternoon. Some people also claim that eating Soursop and drinking tea made from Papaya or Pawpaw leaves help. As with everything else if you have been diagnosed make sure your Health Practitioner is aware of your diet.

11. Use Green tea or Coffee with Ganoderma. Ganoderma mushrooms are known to be effective for controlling cancer cells of the breast, lung and prostrate. Green Tea also counters the effect of radiation.

12 .Start daily forgiveness. Do not hold anything against anybody. Make   a list and forgive and let go. Research has shown that some people with Cancer had been harbouring a number of grudges and un-forgiveness.

13 .Do some deep breathing exercises daily. This helps to put more oxygen back into your system. Inhale through your nostrils and fill the stomach and then exhale through the mouth. You should see the stomach getting larger when you inhale and being reduced when you exhale.

14 .Meditate. Take time off daily and just sit still and be at peace with  yourself and everyone and ask for guidance from the creator.

15.Start being grateful for what you have and give back. Help someone in need without expecting them to repay you. Smile and be courteous. Laugh more and enjoy life. After all you only pass this way once so make the best of it!

Motivation and Health Tip – Be Yourself and Weight Loss Tip

Motivation

We all want to be like someone else.
We want to be like this star, or this leader,
or we want to look like this or that person.

Why don’t you just be yourself!!

Oscar Wilde said:
Be yourself, everyone else is taken.

In performing the wedding ceremony of
Prince William and Catherine Middleton, the Bishop
of London used this quote from St Catherine of
Siena:
” Be who God created you to be, and you will set the world on fire.”

Health

Do you know that eating while engaged in another
activity like watching TV  or reading actually
increases weight gain because digestion slows
down allowing more fat to build up?

So focus on your eating.
Have a glass of room temperature water before you eat.
Start with your salad or vegetables first.
Avoid drinking while chewing as this increases the chance of gas.
End with a hot drink. This aids digestion.

Motivational and Health Tip – Success

Motivation

Feel yourself a success, if you  believe that you are a success you will put yourself in an attitude of success.

Do not be afraid to take on something big –  go at it with force and look for methods to accomplish it.

You may not at first be totally successful, but aim high so that if you fall a little short you will still have

accomplished something.

What others have done, you can do. You may even do what others have been unable to do.

Always keep a strong desire to succeed in your mind.

Health Tip

Do you know that apple cider vinegar, pure honey and warm water helps gas pains, indigestion and acid reflux?

Formula:

1 to 2 teaspoons raw apple cider vinegar (preferably organic)
1 to 2 teaspoons pure honey
8 ounces of water (warm enough to dissolve the honey, but not essential)

Apple has been known to help digestion-related ailments. You know the saying ‘an apple a day keeps the Doctor away’.

Also at the first sign of the flu, when you feel the throat is getting sore gargle some apple cider vinegar in room temperature water. You will be amazed at the results.

15 Low Cost Ways to Stay Healthy and Young

I am now in my early fifties and I feel and look great and I want to help you feel healthy and young.

At one time I was in a job in the financial services sector and I used to spend most of my free time and money at the Doctor’s office.

I always had the flu, stomach problems, headaches, constipation etc., so I lived on antibiotics. If you are familiar with these illnesses you may have realized that these are all stress related. I struggled to balance work and family life in addition to completing my degree. My life at that time seemed to be in a bit of flux.

A friend introduced me to a book called “What Doctor’s Don’t Tell You About Vitamins”. I was very startled about the information provided in this book. I did some more  research on vitamins and took a course in Nutrition. Based on my research I started to take more vitamins and use foods that provide me with natural nutrients.

I used lots of  vitamin C, B, D and some of the  natural supplements I tried were – Noni, Acai, Goji, Aloe Vera. I also used the One minute Cure For All Diseases .  To these  I added   some simple floor exercises. As I continue to take these natural supplements and do the exercises  I realize that I no longer got the flu as often as I did and a number of the various aches and pains  had disappeared, and I was feeling great.

I no longer get the flu. I do not have any reflux. I really feel great. Now I  want to live, love and make a difference by helping other people like you feel healthy and young. I  see so many people my age and even younger struggling to stay healthy and young, and with the economy as it is we have no choice but to sacrifice health and looking good for other basic needs.  I am here to tell you there is hope. You can stay healthy and young  with these 15 low cost suggestions.

  1. Be constantly grateful to God for all that you have. After all he knows everything about you, so thank him every day for not only the big things but all the little things that he has provided for you.
  2. Always smile – this helps promote healthy cells. You can even laugh more. Do not take things so seriously.
  3. Be Positive – the more positive you are,  the more your body will feel and look better. Positivity also promotes wealth and good relationships. You have everything you ever need to live the life you want and you are worthy of this. Do not let anybody tell you differently.
  4. There is no need to take a dozen different supplements or tablets . Take one that has all the nutrients you need, except if you are anaemic.  I take chews4health. This is one chewable tablet with 16 powerful ingredients including the 4 super fruits – noni, acai, goji and mangosteen. It costs less than a dollar a day.
  5. Practice forgiveness – do not hold anything against anybody. Some research indicate that diseases may be the result of unforgiveness. So if you have not spoken to your sister/brother etc. for however long because of something they did to you, you need to take care of this by forgiving them. This also includes the Manager/Supervisor on the job who did not give you the promotion, or who did not like you or the co-worker who back stab you. Even add your parents to this, as some people may not have spoken to their parents for a while because of what their parents may have done to them.
  6. More and more research is showing that  coffee is good for you. If you love coffee, by all means have your cup of coffee but change your brand. I use Organo Gold coffee/mocha/chocolate/tea. These are infused with the Red Chinese Mushroom – Ganoderma. You can research  Ganoderma at pubmed.gov. You can get this cup of coffee for less than a dollar.
  7. Keep your body hydrated by drinking a lot of water. A glass or two 15 to 30 minutes before you have breakfast is a great way to clean out your system.
  8. Do not skip breakfast. This is the most important meal of the day. Be sure to include oats and some chai seeds or flax. These are excellent for the cholesterol  and for those with diabetes. Chai seeds also help to keep the body hydrated.
  9. Try to have your last heavy meal by 3.00 pm. Going to sleep with a full stomach increases your chance of storing up extra fat and puts more pressure on your body.
  10. Do some simple face exercises to minimize the wrinkles and wash daily with a Ganoderma Soap, which keeps the face clear and smooth. You can also try olive oil and lemon juice.
  11. Use the white of the egg once a week or every other week to minimize your wrinkles.
  12. At the first sign of a sore throat gargle with Apple Cider Vinegar in a little water.
  13. Find some simple floor exercises to do.
  14. Find your passion/purpose – we are all here to do something, help somebody or provide a service etc.
  15. Love like you never loved before – you are loved and have all the love you need so share it. In any case, you will not get love unless you give it away.

What makes Coffee healthy?

The Caffeine in Coffee is known as a stimulator that  increases alertness and improves your ability to concentrate. Hence the reason most of us drink it. Coffee drinkers must have their coffee every day! There are claims that caffeine has additional health benefits, such as the ability to decrease risk of disease, improve athletic performance and boost memory.

An analysis which was completed by scientists at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology and revealed that people who drank two cups of coffee a day were 14 percent less likely to suffer from a stroke.  The analysis was  combined statistics from eight studies conducted between 1960 and 2011 that had researched the correlation between coffee consumption and human health. The analysis included the results of  surveys from some 500,000 individuals.

There are a lot of varying views and of course scientific opinion  is sometimes strongly divided on the accreditation of coffee as having potential health benefits.  Whether it is clear or not  there are strong indications from the experiences of individuals and some nutritionists  that  consuming coffee  may help in lowering the incidence of type 2 diabetes and heart disease and may provide other health benefits.

Let’s take a look at some research so far that indicate there may be some truth in the health potential of coffee:

Help in reducing the risk of stroke

The Karolinska Institute researchers  found that individuals who drank two and three cups of coffee a day appeared to be less likely to suffer from a blood clot in the brain by 14 and 17 percent, respectively. According to the published findings  the antioxidants found in coffee may help shield the brain’s blood vessels from so-called “bad” cholesterol.

Help in Lowering the risk of heart disease

Although Caffeine intake may cause an increase in blood pressure a Harvard Nurses’ Health Study  published that they did not find  habitual caffeine intake  as a reason for increases in  the risk of cardiovascular disease.  Further the Journal of Epidemiology and Human Health noted that drinking two cups daily reduced the risk of dying from heart disease by 23 percent. This was  according to a Japanese study of 81,000 men and women .

Lowering the incidence of type 2 diabetes

One 2004 study, where more than 125,000 participants were observed, the researchers theorized that it is the antioxidants in coffee (specifically ones like chlorogenic acid and magnesium) that helped improve insulin sensitivity.

Helping  with memory, alertness, and reasoning

For all the coffee drinkers, we all know what happens when we have that first cup  or two of coffee to wake us up.  Women 65 and older may find it very interesting to know that  a 2007 French study appear to reveal that the caffeine in coffee helped slow “cognitive decline.

About gallstone formation and gallbladder disease

If you are concerned about gallstone a study released in 2009 found that men who drank two to three cups of coffee daily were 40 percent less likely to develop gallstones compared to non-drinkers. According to Authorities moderate consumption of caffeinated coffee helps  with stimulating contractions in the gallbladder and lowering the cholesterol in the bile that can cause the stones to form.

Helping to protect against chronic liver disease

Some research seems to suggest that if you are at risk of developing liver disease because of heavy alcohol consumption you may benefit  from drinking a couple of cups of coffee daily. Indications are that Coffee may lower the risk of the development of elevated liver enzymes, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.

All the above  is based on moderation. We all know that we survive on more than one cup daily.

Organo Gold coffee’s key ingredient is Ganoderma— a form of mushroom that grows on wood that has been used in traditional Asian medicines for over 4000 years.  You can research the benefits of Ganoderma at the US National Library – pubmed.gov. People I know who have used the coffee have stated that they have experienced benefits such as improvement in balancing blood sugar, blood pressure, migraine headaches etc. I have personally tried all their products. I had stopped drinking coffee because of the side effects – acid reflux, restlessness and insomnia. Now I drink Organo Gold Coffee during the day and I feel great, sleep well and I do not have acid reflux. I have also not gotten the flu. Of course our bodies are all different. I challenge you to try a box and let me know your experiences.

These are my views based on my personal experiences, the experiences of people I know and on  online research. I would love to hear your views.
